On December 9, 2012, the second TPA’s Winter Nights at Sam’s meet-up continued on the patio of Trader Sam’s at the Disneyland Hotel with tons of laughs, good friends, and Tiki drinks. While the group was smaller than we’ve had in gatherings past (likely due to Holiday craziness), we welcomed back many familiar faces and a few new ones! In particular, the folks from Chills for Change came to visit all the way from Santa Barbara! Talk about dedication! It was a pleasure to meet the crew, and we hope to see you guys back soon! We are honored that a nearly two-hour drive is worth attending our event!
Our gatherings are known to have guests join us from all over the themed entertainment industry, and for this meet, we had our first-ever Walt Disney Imagineer and Universal Creative members join us! Big thanks to Neil Jones (WDI) and Derek Hibbs (Uni Creative) for brightening up the meet-up with a little theme park magic for all us nerds to geek over at! We promise, no secrets slipped past lips – both were good boys! As always, we welcomed back many familiar faces. From Malformationz/Garner Holt Productions to John Waite, one of the original Knott’s Halloween Haunt employees – we always enjoy and appreciate the amount of support and fun from all of you!
As a big thank you and Christmas present to our fans, we gave away a few prizes. First, we gave away a few Knott’s Halloween Haunt pins from 2004. This was followed by an adorable Mickey Mouse in a Haunted Mansion costume ornament (won by a Disneyland Cast Member in attendance – we swear, it wasn’t rigged)! And for the grand prizes, we gave away two pairs of tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm and Universal Studios Hollywood!
Thanks again to everyone who joined us! The date for the next meet-up will be announced shortly.
