On Sunday, April 21st, Theme Park Adventure’s Spring Nights at Sam’s II took place under the burning Tiki Torches of Trader Sam’s at the Disneyland Hotel! It was an evening of fun, drinks and socializing! More than 50 people showed up at the event, some of them first-timers, which was awesome to see!
As fate would have it, that morning, the very first videos of Hong Kong Disneyland’s newest attraction, Mystic Manor, hit the web. Many of the attraction’s stunning audio animatronic figures and gorgeous set pieces came from the talented team at Garner Holt Productions right here in Southern California. What a great opportunity everyone had to give Garner and his team a round of applause for their contributions to this world-class attraction in person! TPAers lined up to meet Garner Holt and congratulate him and ask questions about the business of theme park design; specifically creating the best animatronics in the world! It was a very cool “bonus” for Disney fans attending this month’s TPA meet!
Other groups in attendance included haunters representing such events as Knott’s Halloween Haunt, Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights, as well as area home haunts such as Mr. Wood’s Haunted Shack. McKamey Manor haunt from San Diego was represented, as was Chills for Change; Matt Dorado drove all the way down from Santa Barbara to join the group, which was fantastic!
Jeff Schiefelbein was on hand along with haunters from Sinister Pointe, which also supplied this month’s very cool raffle prizes including T-shirts and whiskey glasses! It was a Sinister Pointe love fest, and we truly appreciate their support and friendship! For the record, Matt Dorado went home with Jeff’s sack (you had to be there).
Exclusive new information was shared with the group regarding this summer’s new Halloween/haunter/fan convention coming to SoCal, ScareLA! If you haven’t yet signed up for the convention’s mailing list, be sure to that you’re not left out when the spook show rolls in to town this August!
We are extremely grateful to the staff at Trader Sam’s, as they are always great with the Theme Park Adventure group each month! And of course, we are always amazed by the awesome TPA fans that show up to chill and have a great time!
