Spring is in the air! Theme Park Adventure is excited to announce that our next mixer – TPA’s Spring Nights at Don’s 2 – will take place Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Don the Beachcomber in Huntington Beach!
The event, which is open to anyone and everyone that is a themed entertainment fan, begins at 7pm in the Fugu Bar at Don the Beachcomber, which is just on PCH near Sunset Beach in Orange County. TPA’s mixers are free to attend; food and drinks are available in abundance at the venue for an extra charge. Parking is free, and attendants in the lot will direct you where to go when you arrive, to parking spots next to or behind the restaurant.
Each season of mixers brings a brand new TPA tiki button, designed by world-renowned artist Tom “Thor” Thordarson. If you missed last month’s Spring Nights button, you have another opportunity this April! The first 30 TPAers that still need the spring button can get one free on a first-come/served basis when Rick West begins handing out complimentary raffle tickets for the evening! The raffle will begin at 9pm!
Theme Park Adventure’s mixers are open to everyone, and we encourage everyone to RSVP and come out to the event – even if you have to come alone! You will be immediately welcomed and surrounded by theme park fans, haunters, and themed entertainment industry professionals! We especially encourage first-timers to attend the event! Bring a pal or come alone – you will be so happy you took the step and came out to socialize! While some folks do bring children, we remind you that this is a bar environment and adult shenanigans abound; please use discretion when deciding whether or not to find a sitter for the evening.
If this is all new to you and you find yourself asking what a TPA mixer is all about, it’s simple: community. Each month, Theme Park Adventure fans gather to mix, mingle, and socialize in a completely relaxed and chill environment. Our fantastic hosts at Don the Beachcomber take great care of us with excellent bar service (potent tiki cocktails), and we even have a super affordable grab-and-go food station that is always a hit! We meet in a private room of Don’s called the Hidden Village; it comes complete with thatched roof huts, strings of tiki lights, music, and a waterfall! The purpose of our monthly gatherings is to give people a chance to take time from their busy schedules and come together as a community to simply relax and have fun for a few hours. The folks that come to TPA’s gatherings are an interesting bunch – from theme park fans to hard core haunters, and even industry professionals; there are no boundaries and the playing field is always even. You never know who you may be sharing a table or chatting with over Mai Tais; it’s always a who’s who at our events – and everyone is a VIP!
We look forward to seeing everyone in April at TPA’s Spring Nights at Don’s 2! Please take the time and RSVP, so that we and the Don the Beachcomber team know how many TPAers to expect at the gathering!
