All Wheel Sports at Worlds of Fun

Worlds of Fun is bringing an all new show to the Heart of America Amphitheatre in June. ‘All Wheel Sports,” a finalist act on NBC’s America’s Got Talent,” is a unique performance including BMX bikers, skaters, Pro Scooter riders and acrobats, who perform in gravity-defying, extreme sport spectacular. Described as, “…Cirque Du Soleil meets the X Games,” by Howie Mandel, a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, All Wheel Sports has performed for over 18 years at many major theme parks including Cedar Point, Knott’s Berry Farm, Disney World, Universal Studios and now Worlds of Fun joins the list.

Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend Info

Runners can now register for the new Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend presented by Sierra Nevada Corporation at the Disneyland Resort. The intergalactic journey runs January 15-18, 2015. Runners can sign up at www.rundisney.com.
Jedi runners should move fast. Given the popularity of all runDisney race weekends, this transportive event will likely sell out at warp speed. In recent years, runDisney race weekends have regularly sold out in record time, and last year attracted more than 163,900 runners to Walt Disney World and Disneyland – a 40 percent increase over the previous year, making the runDisney series one of the largest in the nation.

From fast-casual fare to haute cuisine, the menu of dining options at the Disneyland Resort offers something for every guest. Here, waffles with the Disney characters are as celebrated as the spectacular creations at Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge.
“We offer innovative cuisine from our award-winning chefs that match our guests’ desire for elegant dining,” said Gary Maggetti, director of food and beverage integration at the Disneyland Resort. “But you can still find the Disneyland classics, from the Café Orléans Monte Cristo to Plaza Inn’s fried chicken.”

Harambe Nights at Animal Kingdom

Harambe Nights at Disney’s Animal Kingdom presents the sights, sounds and flavors of Africa during a dazzling new theatrical production and energetic street party celebrating the 20th anniversary of “The Lion King” classic film.
Each Saturday from June 7 through August 9 during this special-ticket, after-hours event, Harambe Nights treats guests to a magical evening. Venturing to the Africa section of the park, guests start the evening with a welcome reception featuring refreshing sips and savory bites of African-inspired appetizers. As they head to the Harambe Theatre, guests receive a special package of chef-created “Lion Chow” perfect for the 55-minute theatrical extravaganza, “The Lion King Concert in the Wild.” This original show comprises celebrity narrators, a live orchestra, choir and special effects to present the moving story of Simba’s coming of age like never before.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, a playful and musical family-style coaster that immerses guests in the timeless story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, officially opened at Magic Kingdom on May 28th, in time to greet summer guests to Walt Disney World Resort.
Joined by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida and Orlando Magic players Victor Oladipo and Tobias Harris, Magic Kingdom vice president Phil Holmes welcomed park guests as the first riders to experience the newest attraction at Walt Disney World Resort.
