Tony Baxter Added to Destination D: Attraction Rewind

baxterD23: The Official Disney Fan Club has unveiled more of the experiences in store for members at what is sure to be the can’t-miss Disney event of the year — D23 Destination D: Attraction Rewind presented by H2O Plus. Taking place November 22 and 23 at Walt Disney World Resort, the event will bring Disney Legends, archivists, Imagineers, and luminaries together to celebrate fan-favorite attractions of years past, including Adventure Thru Inner Space, If You Had Wings, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, with rarely seen concept art and images, vintage video clips, and hours of revealing stories. In addition, there will be a full day of presentations showcasing Disney’s contributions to the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair.

Disneyland’s 59th Anniversary – Love Letters & Memories

On July 17, 1955, what is arguably the most famous theme park in the world was dedicated “to all who come to this happy place” by a beaming Walt Disney. The following day, Disneyland opened its gates to an eager public, and for the next five plus decades, the Happiest Place on Earth would truly serve “as a source of joy and inspiration to all the world” and the more than 600,000,000 guests that have passed through its main gate and through the entry tunnels to Main Street, U.S.A., and the magical lands beyond.

Big Thunder Strikes at Disneyland!

The wildest ride in the wilderness is up and running with an upgraded track, restoration of the historic Rainbow Ridge Mining Town, new paint on portions of the mountain and updates to the train vehicles. Guests taking a ride on this runaway mine train will discover some new surprises, too.

  • Along with the new track, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened in March, 2014, with an enhanced audio system that sharpens the sounds heard by guests as they ride through the caverns and buildings. Even the wildlife at Big Thunder can be heard more distinctly.

Tony Baxter Disneyland Window Ceremony

On November 1, 2013, legendary Disney Imagineer received the highest honor bestowed on any individual at Disneyland in Anaheim, California: a rare window on Main Street credit. Dotting Main Street, guests can see ornately decorated windows bearing peoples’ names and whimsical titles/artwork that pertain to the mark they have left on Disneyland and the Walt Disney Company as a whole. Without a doubt, Tony not only deserved this unique accolade – it is likely safe to say that he is the most iconic Imagineer that has touched the lives and helped shaped the enthusiasm of most of today’s Disneyland enthusiasts everywhere.
