Jack Lindquist, Fred Hollingsworth, Tom Williams Inducted Into IAAPA Hall of Fame

This morning, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) inducted Fred Hollingsworth III, Jack Lindquist, and Tom Williams into the IAAPA Hall of Fame. The IAAPA Hall of Fame honors individuals for their significant and lasting contributions to the worldwide attractions industry. The inductions were announced during the Kickoff Event for IAAPA Attractions Expo 2015 in Orlando, Florida, the premier annual conference and trade show for the global attractions industry.
“We are pleased to welcome Fred Hollingsworth III, Jack Lindquist, and Tom Williams as the newest inductees to the IAAPA Hall of Fame,” said Jack Morey, 2015 chairman of the IAAPA Hall of Fame and Archives Committee and executive vice president of Morey’s Piers. “They are dedicated to creating unique experiences for our industry’s guests, and the products and events they’ve directed have delighted people around the world for decades. Their passion for our business is unmistakable and they deserve this prestigious recognition for their contributions.”

Sapphire Falls Resort Announced for Universal Orlando

When it opens in the summer of 2016, guests visiting the new Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando will walk into a colorful Caribbean hideaway built around a lush, tropical lagoon and towering waterfall.
The new hotel, announced today by Universal Orlando Resort and Loews Hotels & Resorts, will be located across Adventure Way from the new Cabana Bay Beach Resort. It will become the destination’s fifth resort hotel and its 1,000 rooms, including 77 suites, will bring the number of on-site hotel rooms at Universal Orlando to 5,200.

Cabana Bay Beach Resort Officially Open

Universal Orlando celebrated the official Grand Opening of its fourth on-site hotel – Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort – this evening with a beach bash featuring a surprise performance by The Beach Boys. The brand-new hotel features a total of 1,800 moderate and value priced rooms that evoke the classic, retro-feel of iconic beach resorts from the 1950s and ’60s.
