Winter Nights at Sam’s 3 Brings Another Season of TPA Gatherings to an End

Winter_Nights_3_2014 256On Sunday, March 16th, Theme Park Adventure held its final Winter Nights gathering at Trader Sam’s in Anaheim. Approximately 80 TPAers showed up for the final mixer of the season – a respectable-sized crowd that mingled under the tiki torches for several hours at the popular Disneyland Resort bar/restaurant!

In attendance were theme park fans, themed entertainment industry professionals, and of course – oodles of haunters and haunt fans representing some of the best haunted attractions in the world! It was also fantastic to see many new faces – first-timers that came alone or with friends to join the TPA family; we love that, and always encourage it – it’s naturally a bit awkward at first to jump into a large group that seems to know each other well. However, as we say time and again, newcomers instantly are made to feel welcome, and find themselves conversing with like-minded individuals over delicious tiki drinks until late in the evening!

Disney Parks Invites Guests to ‘Rock Your Disney Side’ With 24-Hour Kickoff to Summer on Both Coasts

140-Disney Character "Ultimate Tweet" Announces All-Night Party140 Disney characters gathered at Walt Disney World Resort today creating the Ultimate Tweet to announce the latest Disney Parks bi-coastal, all-night extravaganza; and guests are invited to show their “Disney Side” by dressing as their favorite Disney hero or villain.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and 135 of their friends came together to trumpet the countdown to “Rock Your Disney Side: 24-Hours” this Memorial Day Weekend, the traditional start of the family travel season, when guests of Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California can enjoy select parks for 24 hours nonstop.

REVIEW: Evil Willy’s Candy Factory 2013

One of the most unique and complicated haunted attractions that Theme Park Adventure visited during the 2013 season was a professional haunt by Scareventures, called Evil Willy’s Candy Factory. Based on the classic Roald Dahl tale of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as well as all of the adaptations that have come since, it seemed to us that Evil Willy’s would be a really exciting experience and definitely a twist on the traditional haunted attraction themes that we see each year. Disneyland Resort Celebrates Lunar New Year

Lunar New YearA “Happy Lunar New Year Celebration” welcomes the Year of the Horse with colorful live performances, full-filled activities, beautiful décor, Disney characters in Lunar New Year costume, special food and merchandise offerings and, of course, a horse in the Paradise Garden area of Disney California Adventure Park, Friday, Jan. 31 through Sunday, Feb. 2.

Lunar New Year, traditionally celebrated within Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures, commemorates the moment when both the sun and the moon begin their journey for another year. Highlights of the celebration at Disney California Adventure include:

  • “Mulan’s Chinese New Year Procession” led by a horse, a tribute to the Year of the Horse, and featuring Mulan, the dragon Mushu and umbrella dancers in brightly colored costumes along the performance corridor near Paradise Garden
  • Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Chip and Dale, Mulan and Mushu, dressed in their best for Lunar New Year and welcoming guests for photos
