Six Flags Magic Mountain Announces Newest Roller Coaster

Six Flags Magic Mountain, the “Thrill Capital of the World,” today announced its newest pint-sized roller coaster. Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers will anchor the revitalized Bugs Bunny World, becoming the fourth roller coaster in the children’s area, more than any other U.S. theme park.
Sitting in miniature hot rod race cars, riders will enjoy an action-packed adventure with plenty of drops and thrills on a roadster-themed racetrack. Kids and parents can ride together as they take a sprint around the grand prix track. Joining 11 other rides and attractions, from flying airplanes to pint-sized trucks and trains, Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers will debut in early summer.

Universal Studios Hollywood Celebrates Lunar New Year

Universal Studios Hollywood will be aglow in red as The Entertainment Capital of L.A. commemorates the Lunar New Year and “Year of the Horse” with a special Mandarin-speaking MEGATRON character from the blockbuster thrill ride, “Transformers: The Ride-3D,” who will interact and speak spontaneously with guests in Mandarin and English as part of the commemorative activities taking place from January 25 to February 9, 2014.
Activities will be situated in the all-new Universal Plaza – a grand courtyard at the heart of the theme park – which will be adorned in customary red Chinese lanterns hanging from above. The polygon-shaped piazza will display a dozen lampposts, featuring the twelve zodiac animal signs and three specific characteristic attributes.

Haunted Diary 2013 Home Haunt

One of my favorite aspects of Halloween and the way that Theme Park Adventure covers it each year are the home haunts in Southern California that we have the opportunity to visit and see first-hand. One home haunt that we first visited in 2012 is The Haunted Diary, located in Hollywood, just minutes away from Universal Studios. Each season, The Haunted Diary takes on a new theme; in 2013, it became Dark Carnival.
