The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure to Debut at LEGOLAND California and Florida in Early 2016

LEGO Movie 4D logoFor the first time ever, LEGOLAND Parks are offering a first look at an exciting new theme park attraction that reunites the stars of The LEGO Movie in an all-new story appearing exclusively at LEGOLAND theme parks and LEGOLAND Discovery Centers in 2016.

The 30-second clip released last week gives fans the first glimpse of what happened after the blockbuster movie, when Emmet, Wyldstyle, Unikitty, MetalBeard and Benny reunite at the invitation of a shady new character, Risky Business, who plans to open a curious theme park bearing a suspicious resemblance to LEGOLAND.

The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure will premiere Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 at LEGOLAND Florida Resort in Winter Haven, Fla., followed by LEGOLAND California Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., on Saturday, Feb. 6. The attraction will debut later at LEGOLAND theme parks and LEGOLAND Discovery Centers worldwide.

LEGOLAND Florida Dollars Listed on Travelex Currency Exchange

LEGOLAND Florida DollarsLEGOLAND Florida Resort has entered into an exclusive partnership with Travelex, the world’s leading independent foreign exchange business, to list the resort’s official currency, LEGOLAND Dollars, on Travelex’s currency exchange boards at 55  participating Travelex locations.

This partnership represents the first theme park to have an official currency listed on a currency exchange board. The LEGOLAND Dollarwill be available for purchase at a 1:1 exchange rate to the US Dollar, with a minimum exchange of $5 USD. LEGOLAND Dollars will only be available for purchase with US Dollars. LEGOLAND Dollarscan be purchased through select Travelex locations for the summer 2015 season.

Heartlake City Set to Open at LEGOLAND Florida Resort

LEGOLAND FLORIDA RESORT DEBUTS HEARTLAKE CITYA day ahead of its official opening, LEGOLAND Florida Resort offered media an exclusive preview of its newest land, LEGO Friends Heartlake City. The theme park’s newest expansion is based on the popular LEGO Friends product line and is closely modeled after the five LEGO Friends characters: Olivia, Stephanie, Emma, Mia and Andrea.

Heartlake City features several signature elements, including:

  • Mia’s Riding Adventure is a brand new ride themed around Mia’s love of horses.  This adventurous ride seats up to 40 passengers on a circular platform with outward-facing horse shaped seats. The disk spins in circles while traveling forward and backward on a wide U-shaped track.

LEGOLAND Hotel Opens at LEGOLAND Florida Resort

LEGOLAND FLORIDA HOTEL OPENSLEGOLAND Hotel at LEGOLAND Florida Resort opened this week, marking the expansion of the resort to become an immersive, multi-day experience for families. The grand opening was honored with thousands of colorful LEGO minifigures blasting out of cannons atop the hotel and a child discovering a key to open the hotel built for kids.

The new LEGOLAND Hotel debuts several features unique to LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

The Hotel offers the only LEGO Friends themed guest rooms in the U.S., and the only LEGO Friends themed suite in the world. Based on the popular LEGO Friends product line, this room theme is closely modeled after the five LEGO Friends personalities: Olivia, Stephanie, Emily, Mia and Andrea.

LEGOLAND Hotel is also offering Hotel guests exclusive access to a Master Model Builder Workshop by being the first LEGOLAND Resort to move its Model Shop inside the Hotel. Hotel guests will be able to build side-by-side with a Master Model Builder during daily build sessions.

LEGOLAND Hotel in Florida Nears Completion

LEGOLAND HOTEL NEARS COMPLETITIONIn less than three weeks, the first LEGOLAND Hotel on the East Coast will officially open.  The final bricks are being put in place ahead of the grand opening celebrations on May 15.

The Hotel is built for kids and invites them to take the lead from the moment they arrive.   A special “kid check-in” takes place in front of the minifigure wall, which is made of 5,000 minifigures.  The lobby is also home to a Castle Play area complete with a pirate ship surrounded by a moat filled with LEGO bricks.

LEGOLAND Hotel offers many unique experiences, exclusive to its guests.  Kids can build with Master Model Builders in a workshop setting, go on a scavenger hunt to crack the code on a LEGO treasure chest and uncover special prizes. There’s even a Disco Elevator, where riders can dance under the light of a disco ball as the floor appears to flow under their feet. Each night, Hotel guests can enjoy nightly entertainment including LEGO building contests, or take a stroll on the boardwalk overlooking Lake Eloise.
