Florida First Responders Honored by SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa With Free Admission in September

Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Orlando are honoring Florida first responders through September. From Sept. 1-30, first responders will receive free admission to both Florida parks, and a special offer for additional tickets.
In addition to complimentary admission, qualified first responders receive up to four discounted tickets per park for friends and family for just $50 per ticket, a savings of 48 percent off general admission.
“This special offer is our way to show our support and appreciation for the commitment and dedication of Florida’s first responders,” said Jim Dean, Busch Gardens Tampa park president.

Cobra’s Curse Announced for Busch Gardens Tampa 2016

Busch Gardens Tampa puts a spin on family thrills in 2016 with a brand new family thrill ride – Cobra’s Curse. This spin coaster is the only one of its kind in the world, featuring a vertical lift and taking riders on a whirlwind adventure of exciting explorations.
Located in the Egypt area of the park, explorers will come face-to-face with an 80-foot snake icon, trek over the park’s Serengeti Plain and discover the mysteries of an Egyptian archaeological excavation.
“This isn’t your ordinary spin coaster. In true Busch Gardens style, we’re putting a twist on this attraction and taking riders on an unforgettable and exciting journey,” said Busch Gardens Park President Jim Dean.”
“The addition of a family spin coaster complements the selection of thrill rides Busch Gardens offers, and we know it’s an attraction that guests from across the globe will enjoy,” Dean added. “We continue to find new and exciting ways to offer thrills for the entire family, and we know Cobra’s Curse will even further solidify Busch Gardens as Florida’s Thrill Leader.”

Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa Closing February 1

February 1 is the last day for thrill seekers to ride Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa as the park prepares to permanently close the wooden roller coaster.
Gwazi opened in 1999 as Florida’s first dueling wooden roller coaster, providing guests with thrilling and memorable experiences for more than 15 years.

Spike, the Asian Elephant Moves to Busch Gardens Tampa

Busch Gardens Tampa is excited to welcome Ganesh, better known as Spike, to its existing Asian elephant herd. Spike, a male Asian elephant, will join the current herd of five female elephants on the park’s elephant habitat in the coming days.
In addition to being an ambassador for his species, Spike will play an important role in Busch Gardens’ conservation efforts, as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) Species Survival Plan (SSP) for sustaining this critically endangered species. Guests can see Spike once he joins the rest of the herd in the coming days on the elephant habitat, which is found across from the Animal Care Center.

Adventure Island Unveils Colossal Curl for 2015

Adventure Island guests are in for an epic journey on the park’s newest thrill ride Colossal Curl, set to debut at Tampa Bay’s premier waterpark in 2015.
True to its name and holding up to four passengers, this mega slide delivers a high-adrenaline, action-packed adventure, making it the ultimate family thrill slide and adding to the waterpark’s unrivaled combination of corkscrews, waterfalls, high-speed thrills and tropical, tranquil surroundings for guests of all ages.
“We’re excited to continue in our tradition of offering thrilling rides, and slides, at Adventure Island and Busch Gardens Tampa,” said Park President Jim Dean.
