Iron Man Experience Hits Construction Milestone at Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland saw the successful topping out of Iron Man Experience this week, a milestone in the resort’s overall plan to bring more amazing Disney experiences to guests. As part of a new Marvel-themed area slated to open in late 2016, Iron Man Experience will take guests on an epic adventure across Hong Kong alongside Marvel hero Tony Stark —a.k.a. Iron Man — as he flies into battle against the forces of evil in this high-tech, motion based simulation.
The new Marvel-themed area is right on schedule for its upcoming launch in Tomorrowland inside the park. Iron Man Experience, a first-of-its-kind attraction at Disney, will be set in the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong. Iron Man will fly all the way from Hong Kong Disneyland to Victoria Harbour, where he will battle along Hong Kong Island’s main roads.

New Attractions and Entertainment Coming to Disney Theme Parks Around the World

This past weekend, The Walt Disney Company announced a line-up of new attractions and entertainment coming to its theme parks around the world during the D23 EXPO 2015 in Anaheim, Calif.
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek gave 7,500 lucky fans a behind-the-scenes look at what’s to come. He was joined by Imagineers working on these projects as well as legendary filmmakers James Cameron and Jon Landau who shared new details about Pandora – The World of AVATAR including the names of the land and E-ticket attraction – AVATAR Flight of Passage. Fans also got a chance to see Marvel legend Stan Lee in a cameo appearance where he posed as an unsuspecting fan during Iron Man’s dramatic entrance.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Launches Disney Friends for Change Youth Grant

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Over the last decade, HKDL has grown with the city’s younger generation, encouraging them to impact society with their creativity, happiness and energy. Hand-in-hand with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the resort yesterday kicked-off this year’s Disney Friends for Change Youth Grant at a launch ceremony in HKDL. The grant supports youth who want to shape their community in a positive way and assist others through volunteering.
The Disney Friends for Change Youth Grant supports community service projects led by youth aged 12–25. Projects are selected based on their potential for spreading happiness, promoting harmony in families and cultivating a strong caring culture between neighbors. As part of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups’ Neighbourhood First program, the grant has been overwhelmingly received this year, with a total of 110 proposals submitted. Fifty winning proposals that demonstrate creativity and love have been selected; each with financial assistance of up to HK$4,000 from HKDL to implement these community-improvement ideas during July to October this year.

2015 marks the 10th anniversary at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Over the years, the resort has brought joy and fond memories to millions of guests through an array of diverse entertainment and shows. By leveraging increased venue scalability and flexibility and a growing library of popular Disney stories, Hong Kong Disneyland will provide new entertainment and shows that bring interactive and immersive guest experiences to a new level.
The Golden Mickeys, a Fan Favorite
The Golden Mickeys is the most popular show in Hong Kong Disneyland, and is celebrated for being the longest-running Broadway-style show in Hong Kong. Through more than 19,000 performances, the show has created unforgettable memories for over 16 million guests from around the world since the opening of the resort. The show’s line-up includes seven classic beloved Disney stories: Toy Story, Mulan, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Moving forward, Hong Kong Disneyland will bid a fond farewell to The Golden Mickeys, though the show will remain in everyone’s heart as new shows and entertainment are developed.

The Frozen adventure commences with a special musical performance at the Crown Jewel Theater. You will meet Erik and Aria, two townspeople who will lead you through the Frozen Festival Show and gather everyone together to sing along to your favorite and most memorable songs from the movie including Do You Want to Build a Snowman, Love is an Open Door and In Summer in this 20 minute experience. Under the magical snow created by Queen Elsa, an exciting finale of Let it Go to complete this emotionally charged experience will be performed by Queen Elsa, Princess Anna and Kristoff.
