Haunted Hollywood Sports Media Preview 2014
Posted on October 27, 2014
At the beginning of the Halloween season here in Southern California, the folks at Haunted Hollywood Sports were kind enough to invite Theme Park Adventure to their special media preview night, which consisted of a party, live entertainment, and a preview of one of their mazes, as well as one of the park’s signature Killhouses. It should be noted that this isn’t a “review” in the same style as other haunts that we visit and shoot during Halloween, as none of the event’s other attractions were open, so we only have images and video from what was made available to us for the event.

Spring Nights at Sam’s 2 Brings Great Surprises!
Posted on May 13, 2014
On April 27th, we spent a fantastic Southern California evening under the tiki torches of Trader Sam’s at the Disneyland Hotel, and it was a blast! More than 75 TPAers from far and near converged on Anaheim for several hours of networking fun and delicious Polynesian cocktails; it truly was a wonderful time spent with some of the greatest folks anywhere.
The Spring Nights 2 crowd was an awesome mix of old and new friends coming from all over California – from San Diego, to San Francisco; it’s always mind-blowing to see how far TPAers will come each month to mingle! There were also some new faces, which we get really excited about – we love seeing the Theme Park Adventure community grow. Extra props to fans that come by themselves; that’s never an easy first step to take in any social situation.

TPA’s Spring Nights at Sam’s 2014 Begin!
Posted on April 21, 2014
TPA’s Spring Nights at Sam’s 2014 kicked off last month on Sunday, March 16th. Under the glow of the torches of Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel, more than 75 theme park, haunted attraction and entertainment industry fans and professionals gathered to mix and mingle!
With the beginning of a new season (pfffft… yeah… seasons), came a brand new TPA tiki button by renowned artist Tom “Thor” Thordarson. The first 30 fans in attendance snagged one of the limited buttons, which were gone in less than five minutes! If you didn’t get one last month, fear not: 30 more will be available at no cost to TPAers who that haven’t yet received one yet; just show up promptly at 7 P.M. on April 27th and seek out Rick West for your button! As long as we haven’t run out, it’s that easy to snag one!

Winter Nights at Sam’s 3 Brings Another Season of TPA Gatherings to an End
Posted on March 8, 2014
On Sunday, March 16th, Theme Park Adventure held its final Winter Nights gathering at Trader Sam’s in Anaheim. Approximately 80 TPAers showed up for the final mixer of the season – a respectable-sized crowd that mingled under the tiki torches for several hours at the popular Disneyland Resort bar/restaurant!
In attendance were theme park fans, themed entertainment industry professionals, and of course – oodles of haunters and haunt fans representing some of the best haunted attractions in the world! It was also fantastic to see many new faces – first-timers that came alone or with friends to join the TPA family; we love that, and always encourage it – it’s naturally a bit awkward at first to jump into a large group that seems to know each other well. However, as we say time and again, newcomers instantly are made to feel welcome, and find themselves conversing with like-minded individuals over delicious tiki drinks until late in the evening!

Haunted Hollywood Sports Rises From the Grave
Posted on September 30, 2013
In 2012, Haunted Hollywood Sports had a less than spectacular debut, with problems ranging from power and talent shortage, to simply biting off more than they could chew for a first year event. Mazes were far too large and empty, waits for the signature Killhouse attractions were ridiculously long, and in the end, Theme Park Adventure sadly said we’d never return, fairly certain that we wouldn’t even have that choice after such a disastrous first season for the new SoCal haunt in Bellflower. What a difference a year has made…
