Winter Wonderland 2014 at Fairytale Town

Celebrate the holiday season at Fairytale Town with holiday lights, festive décor, snow, Santa, reindeer and more at Fairytale Town’s Winter Wonderland event. The fun-filled family celebration is set for eight days: Thursdays through Sundays, Dec. 11-14 and 18-21. Fairytale Town will be open special hours for the event from 1 to 7 p.m.
The storybook park will be trimmed with festive décor and, starting at dusk each day, lit up with a dazzling display of lights. A flurry of snow will fall on the Mother Goose Stage every night at 7 p.m. On weekends, guests will also enjoy arts and crafts activities and vendors selling holiday wares and treats.

December 2014 Events at Fairytale Town

One of Northern California’s most beloved family parks is rolling out their December events, so that families can begin planning the most festive time of the year!
Winter Wonderland
Thursday – Sunday, Dec. 11-14 & 18-21
1 – 7 p.m.
Celebrate the holiday season at Fairytale Town! The storybook park will be trimmed with festive holiday décor. A dazzling display of lights will light up the park at night, and a flurry of snow will fall nightly at 7 p.m. On weekends, enjoy more holiday cheer with craft activities, vendors and more. Meet two of Santa’s reindeer on December 13-14. Visit with Santa in his workshop on December 13-14 and 20-21 from 3 to 6 p.m. This program is free with paid park admission. Weekend admission is $5.50 for adults and children ages 2 and older. Children ages 1 and under are free. Free Admission Days at Fairytale Town

Fairytale Town gives thanks to the Sacramento community by offering two Free Admission Days during the holiday season.
On the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fairytale Town offers free admission to families who bring a canned food item for donation to the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services – Holiday Spirit of Giving Food Drive. The day also includes free arts and crafts activities. Puppet Art Theater Company will be on hand to present “Jack’s Holiday Adventure,” a holiday version of the classic “Jack and the Beanstalk” story, at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. in the Children’s Theater. Tickets for the puppet show are $1 for Fairytale Town members and $2 for nonmembers.
Families can let their imaginations run wild during the park’s second Free Admission Day. Fairytale Town will be open for play with free admission on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fairytale Town Debuts Renovated Farmer Brown’s Barn

Fairytale Town unveiled a renovated and improved Farmer Brown’s Barn on Saturday, Oct. 11. The Barn is one of the storybook park’s original play sets and the home of Eeyore, Charlotte the spider, Daisy, the Cow that Jumped Over the Moon, and more members of Fairytale Town’s animal family.
Improvements to Farmer Brown’s Barn include the expansion of Eeyore’s stall, new stall doors for both Eeyore and Daisy, repainting the interior and exterior, updating the barn loft, and more.

Safe and Super Halloween 2014 at Fairytale Town

The mythological world of Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” will come to life at Fairytale Town’s annual Safe and Super Halloween event. Families can enjoy three nights of fun and trick-or-treating at the storybook park on October 24, 25 and 26 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Young heroes can go on a quest to Mount Olympus to meet the infamous Olympian Zeus. Families will enjoy exploring the lair of Polyphemus the cyclops, the replica Parthenon, the Oracle of Delphi and Medusa’s garden. Seventeen candy stations will be scattered throughout the park for trick-or-treaters to visit. The evening also features a nightly costume parade at 8:30 p.m. and hands-on activities inspired by the books and Greek mythology.
