In this zany version of the classic tale by Puppet Art Theater Company, a boy is bored watching his lamb and decides to make things more exciting by turning on his dad’s wolf alarm, the “Wolf Alert 3000.” Tricking his dad is all fun and games until a real wolf shows up. Fairytale Town Summer FunCamp Registration 2015 Now Open

fairytale-town-entryFairytale Town offers 16 exciting and educational summer camps for children ages four through nine. Each weeklong FunCamp is designed for a specific age group and features a unique theme, including visual and theater arts, literature, puppetry, animals, gardening and more. Children can explore new areas of interest or dive deeper into their favorite topic.

Three new camps are offered this year for children ages seven to nine: Bugging Out introduces campers to the world of arthropods; Superhero Summer Camp explores what it takes to be a real superhero; and RockSchool 2.0 is an expanded version of Fairytale Town’s popular beginners’ music camp.

April 2015 Events at Fairytale Town

This fun-filled family weekend features egg hunts, prizes, spring-themed hands-on activities and visits with Peter Cottontail. Daily egg hunts are held promptly at 12, 1 and 2 p.m. Hunt areas are separated by age group: 0 – 3 years, 4 – 6 years, and 7 – 12 years. Magical Moonshine Theatre will perform “Tales of Br’er Rabbit” in the Children’s Theater at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Theater tickets are $2 for nonmembers and $1 for members. Spring Eggstravaganza is free with paid park admission. Weekend admission is $5.50 for adults and children ages 2 and older. Children ages 1 and under are free. Magical Moonshine Theatre brings the traditional African American tales of Br’er Rabbit to life with humor, large table-top puppets, a live banjo and singing! Br’er Rabbit may be small, but he has his wits. That doesn’t keep him out of trouble, but does tend to get him out of it, once he gets into it. When he comes up against the likes of Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear, it turns out they are no match for the clever rabbit. Tickets are $2 for nonmembers in addition to park admission, and $1 for members. Sutter Children’s Center Wellness Festival at Fairytale Town

Cheese Stands Alone 2_Photo by Greg FlaggFairytale Town will highlight active and healthy living for families at the third annual Sutter Children’s Center Wellness Festival on Saturday, Mar. 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The one-day Festival is free to the public thanks to the generous support of Sutter Children’s Center, Sacramento.

Families will enjoy fun physical games, free play, gardening activities and more throughout the day. Sutter’s medical personnel will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on healthy child development. Multiple local health organizations will also be offering activities, games and information on healthy lifestyles. Activities include making smoothies while riding a stationary bike, an obstacle course and more.

Weekday admission is $4.50 for adults and children ages 2 and older. Weekend admission is $5.50 for adults and children ages 2 and older. Children ages 1 and under are free. The Grimm Brothers’ classic fairytale “The Frog Prince” comes to life on the Children’s Theater stage. In this production by the Fratello Marionettes, a wicked witch has transformed a handsome prince into a frog, and he is destined to live out his life in the wishing well. While playing in the meadow, the Princess Ofelia accidentally drops her new golden ball into the well. The Princess promises to grant the frog three wishes if he will retrieve her ball. Will the Princess follow through on her promises, and will the frog turn back into the handsome Prince? Tickets are $2 for nonmembers in addition to park admission, and $1 for members.
