Final Weekend for Knott’s Boysenberry Festival 2017
Posted on April 22, 2017
It’s not too late! If you haven’t treated your tastebuds to the goodness that is Knott’s Berry Farm’s Boysenberry Festival 2017, there’s still time to do so… but not much! This weekend marks the end of the wildly-popular “food and wine” event at Knott’s, which has been going on since April 1st. The final day is April 23rd.
Now in its third year, the Boysenberry Festival has definitely become a well-oiled machine. We haven’t once encountered issues we have in years past, such as food running out or associates not knowing much about the event they were working. Notable this year was the much easier process of paying (in most cases) at the point of food distribution for those who didn’t want to buy tasting cards in advance; that was a huge snag in the past – waiting in a long food line only to be told you had to go pay somewhere else first. Now, in most cases, you can just walk up, pay, and get your treats; simple. The best method however, is to buy a tasting/sampling card at any of the multiple locations throughout Ghost Town; additionally, we recommend the alcohol tasting card as well, if you’re going to indulge in adult beverages throughout your visit. In the long run, this method is cheaper and you’ll be stuffed!

Boysenberry Festival a Sweet Celebration at Knott’s Berry Farm
Posted on April 6, 2015
When it comes to overall theme park food quality and offerings, Knott’s Berry Farm reigns supreme here in Southern California. Thanks to a new executive management team put in place by Cedar Fair, the park’s parent company, the past few years have seen Knott’s emerge from admittedly rough times food-wise, to being an industry leader, thanks to the culinary expertise of Russ Knibbs, who heads up the park’s Food and Beverage division. Under the direction of Knott’s Vice President and General Manager, Raffi Kaprelyan, Russ has elevated the Knott’s food brand excellence higher than it’s ever been. In 1995, in perhaps one of the greatest missteps in the company’s history, Knott’s sold off its packaged foods division and along with it, the ability to produce and maintain the Knott’s label on product; most importantly, its famous preserves.

Boysenberry Festival Returns to Knott’s Berry Farm
Posted on March 4, 2015
This spring, celebrate Knott’s delicious roots during its Boysenberry Festival harvested in the theme park’s historic Ghost Town. The 16-day festival returns with an unforgettable lineup of exquisite Boysenberry Bites, dazzling entertainment, gourmet food and the Wine and Craft Brew Tasting Garden, plus the limited time return of the classic Bear-y Tales characters in a pie making kitchen, and more!
In the 1930s Walter Knott harvested the boysenberry, a cross between a loganberry, red raspberry and blackberry, and named the new berry after its originator Rudolph Boysen. Today, all boysenberries in the world can trace their roots back to Knott’s Berry Farm. The Park will once again make delicious history with the debut of its very own farm-made Berry Market Boysenberry BBQ Sauce during the widely acclaimed Boysenberry Festival.
