Deemed the ‘the most terrifying of the United State’s 3,000 haunted houses’ (The Guardian), BLACKOUT celebrates its 5th anniversary this year opening this month in NYC (Oct 9) and LA (Oct 16) — with a new show, BLACKOUT: house and a new set of rules.
Infamous for its strict solo-entry policy, forcing participants to face their darkest fears alone, BLACKOUT: house will be a group experience this year. And if you think that means the experience will be any easier — think again. This year’s iteration takes the creators’ special brand of immersive horror to the next level by breaking even more conventions than previous years and incorporating group dynamics into the experience.

Blackout Comes to New York, Los Angeles and Chicago

After five years of revolutionizing the haunted house industry, BLACKOUT will premiere a new type of horror theater this fall: BLACKOUT:elements. The immersive performance takes inspiration from the four basic elements, thrusting BLACKOUT fans into an intense world of fear unlike anything they’ve experienced before. After signing a waiver, all audience members must walk through the experience completely alone. Immersing themselves in the elaborately designed set pieces, audience members are forced to interact with the characters in a series of twisted and petrifying scenarios.

The Purge: Fear the Night Comes to LA

Blumhouse Productions, the multi-media production company behind highly successful and terrifying movies like the Paranormal Activity franchise, Sinister, Insidious and The Purge, will once again take over the historic Variety Arts Theater in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, introducing an all-new, immersive live experience for the Halloween season.
