Silver Dollar City’s all-new festival Star-Spangled Summer, June 7 through July 20, takes summer family time to new heights with full-out entertainment and high-flying action, as the Branson, Missouri theme park draws more international accolades for its newest wood coaster Outlaw Run, named one of the biggest game-changing attractions in history.
A special feature in this Olympic year, Star-Spangled Summer presents the new show Flying Ace All Stars, featuring Olympic athletes, world champions and future hopefuls performing amazingly daring stunts on trampolines with stomp-the-landing precision. Created by three-time Olympian and freestyle skiing legend Kris “Fuzz” Feddersen, this high-energy show features top athletes performing jaw-dropping ski and snowboard routines on trampolines, an essential training tool for competitive skiers and snowboarders.
Also new, The Illusionary Magic of Brad Ross stars the Merlin Award Winner for Best International Family Entertainer, as he packs the show with world-class illusions, including some never seen before. Ross, who has performed on five continents and in 25 countries, infuses theatrics, comedy and audience interaction into his family-focused show.
Still making headlines, Silver Dollar City’s world-famous, award-winning wood coaster Outlaw Run was recently spotlighted by CNN.com as one of the 12 biggest game-changers in the history of theme park attractions. As the first world’s first wood coaster to send riders upside down three times, including a double barrel roll, Outlaw Run was, according to European Coaster Club founder Justin Garvanovic, something completely new. “It’s hard for a ride over 100 years old to do something totally ‘game changing,’ but Outlaw Run did exactly that,” he says in the CNN.com article.
“Visitors from around the world are still coming to Branson to experience Outlaw Run, which tops the must-ride bucket list for thrill-seeking guests, and it continues to deliver,” said Silver Dollar City Attractions Manager Kevin Lotter. Outlaw Run was voted Best New Ride of 2013 worldwide.
Star-Spangled Summer also features the park’s 30-plus rides and attractions, including thrill rides such as the explosive launch roller coaster PowderKeg and the multi-looping roller coaster WildFire, plus champion cloggers and cartoon character meet-and-greets for kids.
Star-Spangled Summer runs June 7 – July 20, with the park open daily through the summer, adding extended park hours and night rides July 19 – August 3. For information: 800-831-4FUN(386) or www.silverdollarcity.com.
