Reign of Terror Haunted House in Thousand Oaks has announced that it will be open Saturday night, March 4, 2017 for a special event benefiting local animal rescue charities in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Anyone familiar with the haunted attraction scene here in Southern California is certainly aware of Reign of Terror; it is one of the largest and most elaborate haunts in the United States. We often say that we’re lucky to have ROT in our own backyard here in Los Angeles, as it truly is a spectacle to experience and appreciate year after year.
Reign of Terror is located in the Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, making it a fairly long drive if you don’t live in the immediate area. Those coming from the Inland Empire, Orange County, or beyond – we know that it’s definitely a road trip. That said, we say the same thing all the time – make it happen. Make the effort and take the time to get out to ROT, and you will not be disappointed at all. Bruce Stanton and his team of awesome fabricators and haunters have created an absolute masterpiece of an attraction – one that they constantly update and add to, since they are one of the only haunts in Southern California that have the luxury of remaining installed year-round.
This sprawling haunt features 95 rooms (yes, you read that correctly), with 8 distinct themes over 21,000 square feet. That’s a bigass haunt, folks. Reign of Terror calls out its different themes/sections as individual attractions; the way ROT is designed, each section flows immediately into the next, creating a seamless experience that most guests (us included) simply think of as one gigantic haunted house walk-through. The sheer size and length of the experience will blow your mind.
Another aspect of Reign of Terror that we really admire, is that Bruce donates his profits each season to charities – an incredibly generous act that means tens of thousands of dollars flowing back into the community as Reign of Terror pays it forward and truly makes the world a better place through its generosity and goodwill.
Once in a blue moon (or maybe blood moon), Reign of Terror opens its doors during the off-season, hosting a special event night for a certain charity or cause. This is an excellent opportunity for fellow haunters to actually get to Thousand Oaks to check it out for themselves, along with scores of other fans and haunt crews from all over California.
Saturday, March 4 is the night to check out Reign of Terror! Doors will open at 6:30 P.M. and stay that way until each fan is satisfied! Tickets are on sale now on the Reign of Terror website or their Facebook fan page – only $15 for General and $25 for VIP! If you’re tight on time, or simply want to bypass the line (the queue itself is stunning – a show in itself, honestly), we do recommend the VIP ticket option. Tickets will be available at the Reign of Terror box office, but fans should be aware that they take cash only – there are ATMs nearby for those only carrying plastic. There is plenty of free parking at the Janss Marketplace, which is located at 197 N. Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks (91360).
Reign of Terror is a group that we have a tremendous relationship with, and we applaud their efforts and on-going contributions to their community here in Los Angeles. We will be there and hope to see a lot of TPAers there as well, getting their off-season haunt fix! If you have never been – it’s time. Make it happen. Make the commitment. Give to some awesome animal charities while enjoying one of the best haunted attractions in the world. See you in Thousand Oaks, spooky kids!
