Decayed Brigade Slides Back Into ScareLA 2015

Decayed Brigade LogoSlider fans, here’s some news that will excite you: the Decayed Brigade will return to ScareLA 2015, with three shows per day August 8 – 9, at the Pasadena Convention Center!

If you’ve attended a haunted attraction just about anywhere in the world, chances are, you’ve witnessed a “slider” in action – a monster (usually on the streets/in a scare zone) that lunges out of the shadows, sliding on its hands and knees toward screaming guests huddled together in the darkness and fog.

The technique of sliding dates back decades, and can be traced to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. There, during its annual Halloween event, Knott’s Scary Farm, the art of sliding at people to terrify them was born in Ghost Town. It has quite literally spread around the globe and is a widely-used scare tactic used in haunted houses and attractions of all sizes.

Decayed Brigade is a diverse team of male and female sliders from across Southern California’s broad spectrum of haunts and attractions. The 2015 Decayed Brigade is sponsored by Scott Ramp’s The Scream Team.

Scott Ramp is one of the most respected and admired┬áspecial effects makeup artists in the industry, lending his expertise each year to Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest event. Ramp and his team will be turning the Decayed Brigade sliders into terrifying monsters, who will roam and do their thing on the ScareLA show floor each day.

Guests will be able to see members of the Decayed Brigade being transformed on the show floor by Ramp’s team, and will have the opportunity to meet with them between shows for pictures and general conversation at their official booth, which will bookend one end of the sliding runway.

“We are very pleased to once again, feature some of Southern California’s best sliders at ScareLA,” said Rick West, Founder of Theme Park Adventure and Creative Programming Producer for ScareLA. “Anyone who’s ever been to a haunted attraction knows what these folks are capable of. At ScareLA, we’re able to showcase their talent and immense physical skills for guests under the bright lights of our show floor. They will amaze, surprise, and perhaps terrorize our guests at this year’s show. Additionally, we are very excited that master makeup artist Scott Ramp is sponsoring the Brigade with his own company, The Scream Team. This year’s slider exhibition will be the best yet at ScareLA and we can’t wait to have hundreds of fans cheering them on each day!”
