Betty White Gets the “Who-Manitarian of the Year” Award at Universal Studios Hollywood

Betty White at Universal Studios Hollywood for GrinchmasOn December 6, 2012, actress and animal activist Betty White was presented the “Who-Manitarian of the Year” Award at Universal Studios Hollywood for her lifelong dedication to animal welfare. In addition to her great achievements in helping countless animals, Ms. White was recently named Chairman of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association. The award was presented to Betty White by the Grinch’s lovable sidekick Max on a crispy Thursday morning under the Whoville tree. Theme Park Adventure was honored to be a part of this ceremony, and to witness the talented Betty White receiving an award she deserves!

Grinchmas began on December 8th, and is running daily until December 31st. The Grinchmas celebration will include fresh snow for families to play in, nightly celebrity readings for the tree lightning ceremony, and other whimsical activities for the whole family to enjoy. Throughout the event, there will also be many opportunities to meet, photography, and interact with The Grinch, Max, and the Whos of Who-ville.

Grinchmas is one of Theme Park Adventure’s favorite seasonal events at a theme park. Universal Studios Hollywood does a magical job at transforming the park into the strange and whimsical world of the Whos, based on the Ron Howard film How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Our only Grinchmas wish is that Universal would expand this tradition to include the entire month of December, as other theme parks in SoCal do; it’s a not-to-miss event!
