Haunted Diary 2013 Home Haunt
Posted on January 20, 2014
One of my favorite aspects of Halloween and the way that Theme Park Adventure covers it each year are the home haunts in Southern California that we have the opportunity to visit and see first-hand. One home haunt that we first visited in 2012 is The Haunted Diary, located in Hollywood, just minutes away from Universal Studios. Each season, The Haunted Diary takes on a new theme; in 2013, it became Dark Carnival.

Boney Island 2013 Home Haunt
Posted on January 15, 2014
Without fail, I am always asked what some of the best family-friendly haunts are in the Los Angeles area each Halloween season. And without fail, Boney Island is always an instant response to that question. Actually, one of the finest home haunts anywhere, Boney Island should be on everyone’s October list, regardless of age. It’s that good, and absolutely chalked full of incredible heart and soul. Since our first visit to this Sherman Oaks spectral spooktacular in 2011, Boney Island has been a… permanent resident on Theme Park Adventure’s annual Halloween event tour!

Haunter Sound FX Collection from Stage 13 FX
Posted on January 14, 2014
It’s finally here; the wait is over! The Haunter Sound FX – Haunted House Collection is available from Stage 13 FX!
This all-new sound effects collection from Stage 13 FX offers the haunted attraction industry over 450 high-quality sound effects and loops for only $34.95! Stage 13 FX owner Josh Quillin said, “When we started working on the Haunter Sound FX – Haunted House Collection, we wanted to create a sound effects pack that was filled with high-quality, well recorded assets that can be easily integrated into and modified to fit any haunted attraction. We also wanted the assets to be affordable. So often we see great collections and items that would be wonderful to add to our tool kits, but the prices are extreme. With that in mind, we priced the Haunted House Collection at only $34.95.”

REVIEW: Haunt S.B. 2013
Posted on January 14, 2014
Last Halloween season, rather than travel out of state to experience non-local Halloween events, Theme Park Adventure drove up the California coast to beautiful Santa Barbara to check out Haunt S.B., that city’s only haunted house attraction for the second year running. Haunter Matt Dorado and his creative team of talented spooksters took it upon themselves to blaze the trail and give the seaside community something to scream about during October. The Haunt S.B. team went to work on a theatrical concept that didn’t pull any punches; in fact, guests had to sign waivers stating that they understood it would be an interactive experience, and that there’d be physical contact involved along the way by the haunt’s actors!

Knott’s to Add Three New Rides to Camp Snoopy
Posted on January 14, 2014
Buena Park, Calif. (January 2014) 2014 marks the beginning of an exciting time in Knott’s history as its treasured Camp Snoopy celebrates the big 3-0 with a complete restoration of the entire land! Today, Knott’s Berry Farm is proud to announce the three new rides coming to the land of High Sierra fun: Charlie Brown’s Kite Flyer, Pig Pen’s Mud Buggies and Linus Launcher. The addition of the three new family rides, built by Zamperla, demonstrates Knott’s commitment to reinvestment in one of the most beloved children’s areas ever created.
- Charlie Brown’s Kite Flyer invites campers to “fly a kite” with Charlie Brown and soar above the land’s winding paths and babbling streams – but watch out for the kite-eating tree! This 32-passenger adventure allows guests to sit side-by-side on 16 swings for a spin that whisks riders up to 18 feet above the ground. As the tree rises, good ol’ Charlie Brown is revealed upside down and all tied up in kite string! Charlie Brown’s Kite Flyer will replace Snoopy Bounce.
