Haunted Hollywood Sports Rises From the Grave

In 2012, Haunted Hollywood Sports had a less than spectacular debut, with problems ranging from power and talent shortage, to simply biting off more than they could chew for a first year event. Mazes were far too large and empty, waits for the signature Killhouse attractions were ridiculously long, and in the end, Theme Park Adventure sadly said we’d never return, fairly certain that we wouldn’t even have that choice after such a disastrous first season for the new SoCal haunt in Bellflower. What a difference a year has made…

Knott’s Haunt 2013 Scare School

Scare School is something that has become a right of passage at Knott’s Berry Farm as the park is transformed each September into the Scary Farm. As elaborate mazes and shows are erected, hundreds of seasonal employees are hired to become terrifying creatures of the night. However, to truly be monsters, all of the employees that Knott’s hires for its Halloween Haunt event must be trained by a veteran team of managers that know exactly what it takes to be a denizen of the mazes and scare zones.

received_m_mid_1378264720019_b5d1d7ef52eae78586_0

On Sunday, September 8th, The Empty Grave in Anaheim, California will be home to a very unusual mix of vampires, ghouls, monsters and… clowns. Yes; clowns! The haunted attraction, which is located within the Anaheim GardenWalk, will be open for business all night long, with a special cast of talent kicking ass and raising Hell in the name of a fallen industry brother – Mark “Sumo” Sagato. All night long, 50% of the ticket sales will go to Mark’s loved ones. “Sumo” was taken away from all of us much too soon due to cardiac arrest last month. His family and loved ones need help and support in this impossibly challenging time.

Theme Park Adventure – We’re 19 Years Old!

Theme Park Adventure began in the summer of 1994. If you’d told me then that we’d go on to become one of the longest-running fan publications, I’d have said you’re nuts. It was started as a hobby then out of my love and direct involvement in the theme park industry. 19 years later, the adventure continues as we are bigger and stronger than ever, continuing to communicate with fans around the world and inspire younger generations of enthusiasts to seek out their own ride through the past, present and the future…
